This product sounds aweful on the receiving end. In the car it sounds great through the car speakers but to the caller, it sounds like your in a steel garbage can. I returned the original one ordered because I thought there was a problem with it. The second one I received is just as bad. I stopped using it soon after I received it. I don’t know if I can send it back for a full refund. Not worth the money, sorry Satechi.
5 Stars Great little Bluetooth alternative
This is a great alternative to a factory Bluetooth option or an aftermarket hard wired solution. The sounds quality is great. The ability to easily change stations and it’s compact size makes it a perfect solution for a business traveller or someone who needs to use it in multiple cars. It’s extremely easy to use and the set up is so simple that it’s up and running within seconds. Great product.
4 Stars Good product , but noise in metro FM areas like LA
It is a good product and worked as per the specifications. However the idea of using Bluetooth over an FM spectrum may not go well in metro areas like Los angeles, Sanfrancisco or Newyork. This is because there are toomany FM channels out there on a limited FM spectrum.
So When I purchased this product, it was quite easy to hook up the device with my Motorola Razor phone, the set up is a breeze..I first tried calling by pulling my car off the road in a parking area, and it worked perfectly fine. When I am on the move, the call quality is good for 4-5 minutes, and then when I entered into a nearby city the I got interference on the call, and I was forced to hung up.
Especially, if you are living in one of these metro areas, probably you should get a built-in bluetooth with car audio system..rather using FM as the connection medium.
I have returned the product..as I don’t want to have my calls dropped , neither should I be worried of this interference while driving…thats a lot of distraction.
5 Stars Perfect Product via Above Perfect Service
This unit works a treat. Very good FM sound quality; really, everything one could expect from FM. The sensitive microphone in conjunction with effective noise reduction makes it very easy for callers to understand you. Voice playback is clear and has ample range. The provided USB power port is a welcome addition for today’s power hungry phones. Transition from music to phone and back is smooth and seamless with no annoying clicks.
The first unit I received, however, was a bit of a disappointment. It was almost unusable, as the left channel did not work and it would cut in and out every few seconds. Fearing the worst, I called the customer service number for Satechi. To my surprise, my call was picked up on the first ring. Even more surprising, I was immediately put through to a tech. And actually shocking, the tech did not try to educate me on how to turn on my phone’s Bluetooth, but instead, immediately said that they would replace the unit. I asked if they required me to send back the old unit first, and was further shocked when they said “no”.
Five days later (record time for a package from the US to Micronesia), I had a new unit in hand and what should I find in the box but a prepaid us postal service return tag for the return of the defective unit! Unheard of in any industry, let alone tech!
Great products and the most amazing customer service on the planet. What more could anyone ask for?
5 Stars Worked beautifully!
This product worked exactly as advertised. I already have a bluetooth speakerphone but I need something to transmit music and internet radio and that is why I bought this product. I’m using this with my BlackBerry 8330. My main goal was to transmit music and even stream radio to it. I have Slacker on my BlackBerry and this worked just fine with it. The sound quality is very good. I have not used this as a speakerphone so I can’t comment on that part. Overall, very satisfied with it because it is doing what I need it to do. Thanks.
